GrudziÄ…dz thermal SPA
In winter 1972 in Marusza near GrudziÄ…dz, in search of petroleum and gas, Lower Jurassic deposit of thermal waters was found. Deposits of warm water of ca. 44° C were found on depth of 1630 m, which blew out higher than 13 m.
It was a magnificent and a surprising discovery. Chemical analysis of the flowing water, made in 1972, qualified it to brine waters, with unique chemical constitution. Only in year 2001, due to increasing interest in geothermal resources, at the initiative of the company Geotermia Marusza and on the basis of the existing documentation of PAN [Polish Academy of Sciences], hydrogeological documents for hyperthermal water resources were prepared.
Repeated tests of brine composition confirmed its exceptional curative properties, thanks to which it was enclosed to the list of curative minerals deposits.
Deposits of the discovered brine are practically inexhaustible. With output of 20 thousand litres per hour, i.e. almost half million litres per 24h, there is enough brine for 1000 years. The earth layer of 1630 m effectively protects against civilizational pollution, providing its uncontaminated purity and unchanged chemical constitution, formed by nature. Undoubtedly, no sea or ocean area, where people swim nowadays, can compete with purity of this water anymore.
Since completion of documentation-related procedures, Geotermia acceded to building of balneological objects, which would allow for utilization of brine for curative purposes. The pace of works was impressive. The first object, equipped with tubs, inhalators, cryotherapy, gymnastics hall, infrared sauna and 2 massage salons, was established in March 2006. In May 2006, pyramid with brine graduation tower was commissioned, which not only allowed for collective inhalation in a closed object, but also for resting after treatment in absolute silence. Evaporation of graduation tower inside the pyramid extremely increases its effective influence on the organism.
Brine Cave was made available in June 2006 – the first possibility of group baths and gymnastics in brine. Opening of the following 4 pools with brine of different concentration were opened almost a year later, in May 2007, as well as a wide range of accompanying services aiming to improvement and maintenance of health: 2 massage salons, gymnastics hall, fitness hall, beauty parlour, 2 saunas, child care room, vitamin bars. The concept of building of this object provides extreme flexibility of services connected with maintenance of good health.
After 30 years, utilization of brines for curative purposes in biological regeneration became the fact. With current pace of sea and ocean pollution, brine from inside of the Earth may become the only alternative of a healthy bath in saline water, a nostalgic memory of marine holidays. However, the greatest future of brines seems to be hidden in its temperature and inexhaustible resources. Preparing and implementation of heat gain from brines is just a matter of a short time. An hour in the Pyramid is like a day at the seaside… This sentence is not exaggerated at all. The content of iodides in the GrudziÄ…dz brine (3,5 mg per dm3) has deciding, curative importance in inhalation of upper airways, in treatment of hypothyreosis and accelerated metabolism. Majority of inhalations in closed objects, over detached graduation towers, is based on uniform concentration of inhaled iodine, calming bromides and other curative brine components. Precise adjustment of temperature and humidity of air, dripped with brine, gives special comfort and effectiveness of inhalations, which acts on the whole respiratory system, cleans the lungs (especially important for smokers!), regenerates nervous system, smoothes and moisturizes skin with precious components of brine. The Pyramid is also the time of silence and relaxation. Opening hours: from Monday to Saturday 7.00 - 20.00, Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00.
Four pools filled with brine with various concentrations of salt, allow for bathing both for children and adults.
PADDING POOL FOR CHILDREN - concentration 2%, temperature 32°C, maximum depth 0,40 m, surface 20m2. Equipped with a little slide and non-sinking toys.
MAIN POOL – concentration 3%, temperature 32°C, maximum depth 1,1m, surface 85 m. There are many underground air nozzles in the pool’s walls (hydrous massage). Overhead fountain and two water bicycles for endurance or slimming training will make the bath more attractive.
POOL WITH COUNTER-CURRENT - concentration 3%,temperature 32°C, depth 1,2 m. surface10m2. Swimming in one place is possible due to the extremely strong counter-current generated by a high efficiency turbine. Adjustment of counter-current strength allows for hydromassage of different intensity of influence on a body.
EXTERNAL POOL - concentration 7,9% temperature 30°C, depth 1,2m, surface 30m2 Nozzles installed on a bottom of the pool intensify relaxation. Additional attraction is roof, sliding in sunny weather.
Spacious changing rooms are equipped with safe clothing lockers, showers, hair dryers, bubble baths, extended shower for mothers with children and baby changing table, allow for comfortable visit in a club.
